My passion

Today I had to conduct my first interview for the Carolina Monthly. At first I was really nervous because I haven’t conducted an interview since the last time I wrote for my college newspaper back in 2013. I interviewed Cedric Baker who has an art exhibit right now in Goldsboro, NC. It was really fascinating talking to him about his experience as an artist and where he gets his ideas from. I walked out of that interview feeling amazing. I literally walked out exhaling a sigh of joy because I realized THIS is what I want to do. The experience of interviewing someone and getting their thoughts and getting a deeper portrait of them was incredible. I had great interview questions, we were conversational, and Cedric Baker was really a great person to interview. He gave me a lot to work with. It made me realize that I really do have great interviewing skills. It was just really amazing and I am so proud of myself for my accomplishment today.
